A variety of different Chemical Peels are available; although many require weeks of pretreatment, moderate discomfort, and a long recovery. The VI Peel, however, can provide patients with the same dramatic results seen from deep Chemical Peels, without the pain or lengthy healing process. The VI peel is composed of five rejuvenating acids: TCA, Retin-A, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and Vitamin C. This unique treatment is designed to reverse the early signs of aging and sun damage with little downtime. In about a week, patients will see an improvement in the skin’s tone and texture. Large pores are reduced and areas of hyperpigmentation can be significantly decreased with the VI Peel.
Benefits of the VI Peel:
- The treatment is relatively pain-free.
- Patients can immediately return to their daily activities.
- Safe and effective on skin types, including darker tones.
- Gentle enough for the eyes, neck, chest, and hands.
- Beautiful results can be seen in as little as one week.

Real Patient Review
The VI Peel Procedure:
A VI Peel is performed in the office, taking just a few minutes. Light skin tones are not required to pretreat before the VI Peel, although darker skin tones may need to precondition for two to four weeks. Initially, a light stinging sensation may be noted as the peel is applied, although this will quickly diminish. No anesthesia is required during the treatment, as the VI Peel contains a numbing agent, which ensures patient comfort.
Once the VI Peel has been applied by an aesthetician, patients are free to return home. The peel will need to remain on the skin for at least four hours, at which time it can be washed off. Additional aftercare products, designed to enhance the peeling process, will be given to the patient. The aesthetician will carefully review all of the at-home instructions before a VI Peel patient leaves the office.
Body VI Peel:
The Body VI Peel represents an innovative advancement in the field of chemical peels, specifically designed to satisfy the unique needs of the body’s skin, which often differs in texture and resilience compared to facial skin. This specialized treatment extends the rejuvenating effects of the traditional VI Peel beyond the face, offering a solution for areas that are frequently exposed and susceptible to damage, such as the arms, legs, back, and chest. By incorporating a tailored blend of potent ingredients, the Body VI Peel targets the common concerns associated with body skin, including rough texture, dryness, acne scars, and uneven pigmentation, resulting in smoother, more radiant skin.
The procedure for the Body VI Peel mirrors the simplicity and convenience of its facial counterpart, ensuring a comfortable experience with minimal downtime. Patients can look forward to a quick, in-office application process, where the peel is applied to the targeted areas, setting the stage for a transformation without the need for a previous treatment or a prolonged recovery period. Following the application, the peel works to exfoliate dead skin cells and stimulate the natural regeneration process, revealing the underlying healthier, more youthful skin. As with the facial VI Peel, patients are advised to follow specific aftercare instructions to enhance the peeling process and protect the newly exposed skin. The Body VI Peel is an excellent choice for those seeking to revitalize the skin across their body, achieving a harmonious, refreshed appearance that complements the results obtained on their face.
Recovery after a VI Peel:
Initially, after patients wash the VI Peel from their face, the skin will appear red and mildly swollen. This is normal and will resolve over the first 24 hours. There is no required downtime after a VI Peel; patients are able to return to work, school, and most normal activities immediately. It is imperative that the VI Peel should remain on the face for a minimum of four hours. Vigorous exercise or strenuous activities should be avoided for the first 24-48 hours, as the resulting sweat could potentially alter the VI Peel’s results.
Two to three days after the VI Peel application, the skin will begin to peel. This process can last between three and seven days, depending on the patient’s skin type and condition. Moisturizer can be used during this time to help mask the noticeable appearance of peeling. While the skin is healing, it may be extra sensitive, so patients should continuously wear sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher during the peeling process. Once the skin is fully healed, in about 14 days, patients will notice a smoother, healthier complexion.

VI Peel FAQs
A VI Peel is a medium depth chemical peel, consisting a unique blend of five acids. In a little over a week, patients will see a reduction in fine lines, decreases acne scarring, reduce hyperpigmentation, and a refreshed appearance.
The VI Peel will gently remove the top layers of unhealthy, dead skin. This allows newer, healthier skin to show, leaving a brighter, firmer, younger looking appearance. The VI Peel will also encourage the body’s natural Collagen production, further smoothing and plumping the skin.
The VI Peel is quickly applied in the doctor’s office, taking only a few minutes, after which time patients are free to return home. Patients are given detailed aftercare instructions, as the peel will need to stay on for at least four hours, before being washed off. Specific products will be sent home with patients that will need to be immediately applied, assisting the peeling process. SPF 30 sunscreen should be worn daily to protect the skin as it heals.
The VI Peel will take between 30 and 45 minutes to apply in the office. Patients will then need to wait at least four hours before washing the peel off at home.
All VI Peels are performed at Mirror Mirror Beauty Boutique’s luxurious new MediSpa in downtown Houston. Our office is conveniently located just minutes away from League City, Pearland, Baytown, and Sugarland.
The ideal candidate for a VI Peel will be a patient looking to improve their appearance and reverse the early signs of aging, but is unwilling to commit to the long recovery period associated with traditional deep Chemical Peels. The VI Peel is safe for all skin tones and ethnicities.
The VI Peel is a versatile treatment that can be safely applied to various parts of the body, including the face, neck, hands, and even the body itself. This broad applicability makes it an excellent choice for those looking to improve the appearance and health of their skin across multiple areas. By targeting these specific regions, the VI Peel helps in rejuvenating the skin, addressing concerns such as aging, sun damage, and uneven skin tone, ensuring a comprehensive treatment solution for a wide range of skin issues.
No anesthesia is needed during a VI Peel.
The VI Peel is not painful; combined with a numbing ingredient, discomfort is reduced. Patients may feel a warm, tingling sensation for the first two to three minutes of application, but this will quickly subside.
Patients should expect the recovery from a VI Peel to take about seven days. After the first two to three days, the skin will begin to peel, lasting up to four days. Initially, the skin may be red and slightly swollen, but this will quickly fade. Sunscreen should be worn daily until the skin is fully healed.
The VI Peel can be combined with other cosmetic procedures and treatments, further enhancing the skin’s appearance. When paired with Epidermal Leveling, Laser Genesis, IPL, or Ulthera Skin Tightening, patients can obtain optimal, long-lasting results.
Makeup should not be worn until it has fully healed (about seven days after treatment). Moisturizer can be worn, however, to minimize the feathery appearance of the peeling process.
Normally patients are encouraged to do a series of four VI Peels, at three week intervals, for optimal results. The exact number of treatments required will depend on each patient’s individual skin and the level of correction needed.
On average, the VI Peel will cost between $300 and $450. This will depend on the exact area being treated and the level of correction required.
